Publisher’s Note

This is a short rebuttal of a research written by Dr. Ibraahim bin Abdullah AnNaasir, in which he tried his best to show the permissibility of most types of Ribaa (usury and interest) transactions that have appeared in recent times in the numerous financial institutions of the world. Hence, we thought English speaking Muslims would benefit from this translated response by Shaikh Abdul-Aziz bin Abdullah bin Baz, one of the noted scholars of our time and a staunch supporter and defender of the Manhaj of the Righteous Predecessors (As-Salaf As-Saalih). Shaikh Ibn Baz’s response is a refutation of the misguided effort of Dr. Ibraahim An-Naasir to allow Ribaa transactions.

The Manhaj (way, method) of As-Salaf As-Saalih (meaning the Companions and the following two generations of Islam) has been blessed in our time by the presence of several noted scholars of Hadeeth and Islamic Jurisprudence (Filth). These scholars combine both vast knowledge in the religion and firm adherence to the Qur’an and the Sunnah according to the way the Salaf understood and implemented them. Shaikh Ibn Baz is one of these scholars and firmly advocates the Manhaj of the Salaf through his lectures, writings and rebuttals of misguided ideas and deviant opinions, such as this research. We ask Allah to reward our scholars and to raise high the flag of the Salaf and their Manhaj.

This short response by Shaikh Ibn Baz that asserts the strict prohibition of all types of Ribaa transactions comes at a time when several so-called scholars are issuing Fatwas (religious decrees) allowing some and even most types of Ribaa. These false, deviant and erroneous Fatwas are especially welcomed by some Muslim communities and individuals who live in non-Muslim countries and who often end up imitating the ways of the Kuffaar (disbelievers) in the societies in which they live. Such people quickly embrace the misguided Fatwas that allow Ribaa, because they think that these Fatwas legalize and justify their indulging in the various types and forms of Ribaa that exist in the present time. I ask Allah to benefit these Muslims and the rest of the Muslim Ummah (nation) with this rebuttal so that they all refrain from indulging in Ribaa, in particular, and in all that Allah has forbidden for them, in general. I also ask Allah to bless the efforts of our scholars who surely face tremendous challenges in recent times, often defending the religion of Allah and His stated limits on several fronts at the same time. They defend the religion against various kinds of attacks by the enemies of Islam and the innovators in the religion. In particular, I ask Allah to grant His best rewards to Shaikh Abdul Aziz bin Baz, who wrote this rebuttal, Shaikh Muhammad Nasir ud-Din AlAlbani, Shaikh Muhammad bin Salih AlUthaimin and the rest of the scholars in general who follow the Qur’an, the Sunnah and the understanding of the Salaf As-Saalih. Aameen.

Introduction

All praise is due to Allah, Whom we thank and seek for help and forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allah from the evils of ourselves and from the wrongdoing of our actions. Whomever Allah guides, there is none who can mislead him, and whomever He leaves astray, there is none who can guide him. I testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

“O you who believe! Fear Allah as He deserves to be feared, and die not except as Muslims.” (3:102)

“O mankind! Fear your Lord, Who created you from a single person (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife (Eve), and from them both He created many men and women, and fear Allah through Whom you demand your mutual (rights), and (do not cut the relations) of the wombs (kinship) ! Surely, Allah is Ever an All-Watcher over you.” (4:1)

“O you who believe! Fear Allah, and say a correct word that is correct (i.e. the truth). He will direct you to do righteous deeds and forgive you your sins. And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger, he has indeed achieved a great achievement.” (33:70-71)

To proceed: Verily, the best speech is the Book of Allah, and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad. The worst matters are newly invented matters (in the religion), and every newly invented matter is an innovation (Bid’ah), every innovation is a misguidance, and every misguidance is in the Hell-fire.

Know Your Prophet
Daar Al-Watan Publishing House | Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 17 | Size: 1 MB
Know Your Prophet: Highlights from the life of the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam.
O Muslims! The best way to spend our time is by studying the biography of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him). This will make us feel as though we are living those great days with the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) which the early Muslims lived, and allow us to imagine that we are amongst those honorable and righteous people, upon whose shoulders the great mansion of might and honor was established.

Studying the biography of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) enlightens the Muslim about the different qualities of the Prophet’s personality, as well the way he conducted himself in his life, at times of war and peace. And the method in which propagated Islam, In addition, the Muslim will discover the causes of victory and defeat, areas of weakness and strength, and how to deal with arising events, no matter how difficult they may be.

The Essential Rights: Rights of Rasoolullah

Rights of the Prophet are the most important, after the rights of Allah. There is no human who has more rights than the Prophet. Allah said, what translated means:
“Verily, We have sent you (O Muhammad) as a witness, as a bearer of glad tidings, and as a warner. In order that you (O mankind) may believe in Allah and His Messenger, and that you assist and honor him (Muhammad)” [48:8-9]

Therefore, love for the Prophet should be more than one’s love for himself, his children, family and worldly possessions. The Prophet said, what translated means:

“None of you will reach belief till I become dearer to him than his children, parents and all humans.” [Al- Bukhari & Muslim].

The Prophet has many rights. Respect and appreciation for him should be practised in the best manner. Respecting the Prophet includes respect of and adherence to his Sunnah after his death. Due rights should be given to the Prophet without exaggeration. When one reads how the companions used to love and respect the Prophet, one knows the importance of this matter. When Quraish (the Prophet’s tribe) sent Orwa Ibn Masud to negotiate with the Prophet in the Hudaibia area, he was greatly impressed by how the companions treated the Prophet. He said, “I have visited the kings of Persia, Rome and Abysinia, but I have not seen any leader more revered and respected by his people than Muhammad. If he ordered them to do anything, they do it without delay. If he performs Wudu` (washing up for prayer) they all seek the remainder of the water he used. They never look at him in the eye, out of respect.” This is how the Prophet was treated by his companions. He was Allah’s Messenger who possessed great qualities and the best of conduct ever.

The rights of the Prophet include believing him in matters of religion and the past, present and future happenings he told us about. Adherence and submission to his orders are some of his rights. When a Muslim believes in the Prophet and wants to follow his religion, he must do so believing that he Prophet’s way is the best way. Believing in the Prophet includes the affirmation that his religion is the best religion. Allah said, what translated means: “But no, by your Lord, they can have no faith, until they make you judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission” [4:65], and, “Say (O Muhammad to mankind): If you love Allah then you follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” [3:31]

To defend the religion of the Prophet is one of his rights upon believers. Defending the religion can be done by using arms, the tongue and writings. To ignore attacks on the Prophet or on his religion is impermissible to Muslims. Muslims must strive to reject, in the best manner, attacks on the Prophet’s character or on any aspect of his religion, the best religion sent to mankind.

Democracy: A Religion

Abu Muhammad Aasim al-Maqdisi | Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 40| Size: 1 MB
Democracy A Religion: These are a selection of papers that the author authored just before the start of the polytheistic, legislative, parliamentary elections - at a time when people were becoming fascinated by democracy. Their fascination was arisen after the defenders of democracy and the defenders of other such false ideologies (who have no religion) defended democracy simply for the sake of it, and they mixed the falsehood with the Truth.
Sometimes they call democracy a freedom, or a ‘consultation’ (this term is explained further on). Sometimes they bring forth arguments that apparently make democracy a valid concept, and they use the story of the judgement of Yusuf (Yusuf) - peace be upon him - with the King as an example. Other times they use the judgement of the Negus as an example - simply to serve their own interests and motives, and to fulfil their own personal agendas. They distort the Truth with Falsehood, and mix the Light with the Darkness, and the Polytheism of democracy with the Monotheism of Islam. But we, with the help of Allah, replied to all of these fallacies, and showed that democracy is a religion. But it is not Allah’s religion.

Democracy is an obvious polytheism and thus a clear disbelief that Allah has warned us against, in His Book. And His Messenger (salallaahu ‘alayhi wa’sallam) attacked suchtaghut (false deities) throughout his life.

Islam Is Your Birthright

Majed S. Al-Rassi - Dr. Bilal Philips | Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 55 | Size: 1 MB
Islam Is Your Birthright: Each person is born in a religious environment that is not of his/her own choice. From the very beginning of human existence in this world, they are assigned the religion of their family or the ideology of the state. By the time individuals reach their teens they usually accept the beliefs of their parents or that of their particular society.
However, when some people mature and are exposed to other beliefs and ideologies, they begin to question the validity of their own beliefs, and search for the truth.
However, when some people mature and are exposed to other beliefs and ideologies, they begin to question the validity of their own beliefs. Seekers of truth often reach a point of confusion upon realizing that believers of every religion, sect, ideology and philosophy all claim to have the one and only correct religion or ideology. There are only three possibilities. They are either all correct; all wrong or only one is correct and the rest are wrong. They cannot all be right since all religions are differen from each other in their fundamentals. Furthermore, the majority claim that they alone are correct and the rest are wrong. On the other hand, to claim that they are all wrong is to deny that God revealed His will to humankind.
This proposition is absurd to those who believe in a Wise Creator. So, which religion is the right one and how can the seeker of truth know it? This is the subject of the booklet in your hands.

In beginning one’s search for which religion is true, one should keep four things in mind: First, God gave us the ability and intellect to make the crucial decision: WHAT IS THE TRUE RELIGION? Second, God, the Most Compassionate, did not leave us to go astray without any guidance. Indeed, He sent us prophets with scriptures to show us the right path. Third, seeking the true religion should be the most important thing in one’s life because the everlasting life to come depends on it.1 Fourth, one can determine the true path and make a rational and correct decision only if emotions and prejudices, which often blind one to reality, are put aside.

( Hisn Almuslim ) Fortress of the Muslim: Invocations From The Quran And Sunnah

Saeed Bin Ali Bin Wahf Al-Qahtani | Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 58 | Size: 2.5 MB
Fortress of the Muslim, Invocations from the Quran and Sunnah: is a very beautiful booklet consists of many authentic Dua’s (supplications) for a Muslim to supplicate on a daily basis and on special occasions.

Author’s Note

This book is an abridgment of my earlier work entitled, Adh-Dhikr wad-Du’a wal-’llaj bir-Ruqyah mina’-Kitab was-Sunnah. In order to make it small and easily portable, I have chosen only the section on words of remembrance for this abridgment. To achieve this, I only mentioned the text of the words of remembrance instead of the entire Hadith. I also limited myself to mentioning only one or two references from the original book for each Hadith. Whoever would like to know about the Companion who related a particular Hadith, or more information about where it is recorded, should refer to the original work (mentioned above). I ask Allah the Glorious, the Mighty, by His beautiful Names and by His sublime Attributes to accept this as having been done sincerely for His sake alone. I ask Him to bring me its benefits during my lifetime and after my death. May those who read it, those who print it, or have had any role in distributing it, benefit from it also. Surely He, glory be unto Him, is Capable of all things. May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon our Prophet, Muhammad, and upon his family and Companions and whoever follows them in piety until the Day of Judgment.
